I created Dark and Deep to introduce a fresh visual style to the horror genre using a unique art process that brings 19th century artist Gustave Dorés illustrations into a new dimension. In *Dark and Deep*, you play as Samuel Judge, a dedicated fan of the conspiracy podcast “Dark and Deep.” Thrust into a shadowy and perilous world, you must survive using magical picture frames to fight hidden creatures and reveal important objects. These frames are both windows into a terrifying reality and tools to banish the darkness. As you navigate through this surreal landscape you’ll uncover a conspiracy that challenges the boundaries of reality and sanity.
The game combines physics puzzles ancient machines and a struggle to protect your light from creatures lurking in the shadows. With its distinct aesthetic inspired by Gustave Doré’s detailed illustrations, *Dark and Deep* offers a unique cosmic horror experience where the real and surreal collide.
